Groupe Monceau Education, the benchmark in top-of-the-range, tailor-made language training for professionals, is expanding its offering with the acquisitions of Elysées Langues and Akteos.
Elysées Langues, a historic player in foreign language training, was founded in 1988. Its takeover in 2017 by Georges Jourdain, backed by Turenne Capital, gave it a new lease of life. The following year, the latter acquired 100% of the capital of Akteos, a leader in intercultural training, to provide its key account customers with a complementary offering.
Élysées Langues, with its 25 salaried expert trainers, provides inter-company training courses for major CAC 40 groups. The company’s know-how is recognized for its immersive courses, mainly in English, but also in French, Spanish, and German. Akteos supports its customers in their international development, helping them to manage the risks associated with cultural differences and to make the most of diversity as an asset. Akteos’ teams are made up of over 200 international experts operating in nearly 100 countries around the globe.
Following a sales process organized by PAX Corporate Finance, Groupe Monceau Education emerged as the company most in line with the values of Groupe Elysées. Groupe Elysées shareholders are selling all their shares. The transaction was financed by a debt package
by Caisse d’Epargne and Banque Populaire Val de France.
Founded in 2020 by Frédérick Van Gaver, André Raulin, and Grégoire Orfanos – who is also the company’s CEO – Groupe Monceau Education’s ambition is to provide companies with top-of-the-range, tailor-made language training. The group was formed through the successive acquisitions of Monceau Langues in 2021, followed by Citylangues and Ecolangues in 2022. These three companies, which have been present in the market for several decades, are recognized for their expertise and the excellence of their training courses. They embody the Group’s values of pedagogical excellence, impeccable customer service, and efficient, tailor-made
customized training.
These values are shared by the Elysées Langues teams, trainers, and Akteos consultants joining the group. With the acquisition of Elysées Langues, GME now has a comprehensive range of language training courses, from ultra-personalized coaching to inter-company group courses and immersion stays, enabling it to respond effectively and with the utmost precision to its customers’ needs.
What’s more, by combining language training with the intercultural training offered by Akteos, GME can offer its customers a complete, integrated solution to help them succeed in their international projects: management of multicultural teams, development of export sales, opening of new markets or subsidiaries abroad, management of partners and suppliers, expatriation, return from expatriation, etc. The new entity represents sales of 11 million euros, with offices and training centers in Paris, La Défense, and Angers.
This transaction enables PAX Corporate Finance to strengthen its presence in the Education and Vocational Training sectors, which are still fragmented and undergoing consolidation. It follows on from recent transactions carried out on behalf of Gereso (LBO with Capital Croissance), Develop’Invest (sold to Alixio), and SEA (entry of Alter Equity and 123 IM).
