Biogroup-LCD acquired Les Laboratoires Associés from its shareholders. An independent medical biology company based in Limoges, Les Laboratoires Associés has a turnover of approximately 15 M€.
This acquisition allows Biogroup-LCD to consolidate its presence in the Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charentes region, a few months after the acquisition of Astralab. Laboratoires Associés and Astralab have been merged and will be operationally managed by Messrs Guillot and Tartary, two biologist shareholders of the Astralab structure. Pax Corporate Finance, which had already accompanied Astralab’s shareholders in their merger with Biogroup-LCD, acted as financial advisor to Astralab in this new transaction.
Biogroup-LCD is majority owned by Dr Stéphane Eimer and operates more than 160 medical biology laboratory sites in the Far East of France (Alsace, Lorraine, Franche-Comté and Burgundy), Ile-de-France and Limousin. The Group specializes in routine analysis, where it is the fourth largest player in France and the leading independent group, as well as in specialty analysis (molecular biology, allergy, autoimmunity, etc.). It employs 2,000 people, including 200 biologists.
A few weeks after the acquisition of Laboratoire Saint-Rémy, this new operation allows Biogroup-LCD to reach a pro forma turnover of more than 200 M€ at the end of 2016.
