The Freeland Group, strategically and financially supported by MML, continues its diversification and market consolidation strategy for services to businesses and freelancers by announcing the acquisition of Mindquest, its 7th external growth operation in 4 years.

After the acquisitions of a share in Asenium (ERP transformation projects) and Consultime (freelance IT services company), as well as Freeteam and Intervia (umbrella companies), and finally Freelance Informatique and the Codeur Group (platform for IT, writing, and translation mission intermediation), the acquisition of Mindquest strengthens the technological dimension of the group and creates significant synergies in staffing.

Pax Corporate Finance supported the Mindquest teams in this strategic merger.

Mindquest: A strategic acquisition to enhance talent identification with advanced technology

Founded in 2014 under the name Club Freelance, Mindquest has established itself as a leading technological platform for recruiting freelancers in IT and finance. Its expertise ranges from SAP profiles to developers, cybersecurity experts, and financial consultants. Mindquest was one of the first players in the market to integrate artificial intelligence into its selection process, optimizing candidate qualification and client response. Thanks to its proprietary algorithms, the platform can identify the most relevant profiles in real-time and facilitate their connection with companies.

In response to growing demand for qualified talent and accelerated recruitment timelines, Mindquest relies on a community of over 400,000 freelancers and a network of partners to offer an ultra-responsive and personalized approach.

Since 2020, Mindquest has expanded its offerings to support its clients not only in freelance staffing but also in permanent recruitment of IT and financial talent, meeting the growing needs of businesses for long-term skills.

“At Mindquest, we have always bet on technology and innovation to rethink IT and finance recruitment. With our AI matching algorithms and human-centered approach, we’ve created a high-performance and agile platform. By joining Freeland, we’re integrating into an ambitious industrial project aimed at structuring and accelerating the staffing market. This merger offers our clients, independent consultants, and teams more opportunities, services, and enhanced capacity to meet the challenges of an ever-evolving market.” Manuela and Thomas Delfort, Founders of Mindquest

Through a personalized approach, Mindquest is able to understand the needs of companies, provide objective advice, identify the right talent, and offer a “turnkey” solution.

With a turnover of €37 million and sustained growth, Mindquest has established itself as a key player and innovator in its segment, consolidating its position with large corporations, mid-sized enterprises, and SMEs, while expanding its international footprint with offices in London, Barcelona, and Mauritius.

“In a world with complex needs and a search for strong skills, Freeland aims to consolidate its position among the leaders in the services to businesses and freelancers market. Therefore, forming a strategic alliance with Mindquest was a natural step, attracting the attention of both Freeland and its shareholders. This new acquisition offers promising prospects for the group’s expansion in a world where agility and transformation are crucial.” Patrick Levy-Waitz, Chairman of the Freeland Group

Freeland: Continuing diversification to accelerate group growth in France and Europe

With this new operation consolidating its position in services to freelancers, and fitting perfectly into the diversification and consolidation dynamic developed since 2019, Freeland Group, supported by MML as the majority shareholder with IDI and Bpifrance as minority shareholders, strengthens its leadership as a freelance services platform. The company develops services designed to meet the needs of independent talent in France and their thousands of corporate clients: staffing, intermediation, recruitment of employees, administrative management, umbrella companies, support, and training.

Forecasting a turnover of nearly €500 million in 2025, Freeland Group, which is consolidating its leadership in France, continues its strategy targeting businesses and freelancers, who now represent nearly 4 million professionals in France, and will strengthen its presence in Europe and internationally with future developments.

Looking to accelerate its growth further, the Group is currently exploring new external growth opportunities to strengthen and diversify its service offerings and better meet the growing needs of freelancers and businesses.
